SASKATOON – Five people charged in connection to a violent home invasion in Saskatoon are headed to trial in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench.

Heather Rene Peequaquat, Jordan Gamble, Carolyn Jean Marie Sutherland, Twyla River Angel Ahpay, and Gerek George Slippery were charged with unlawful confinement and aggravated assault. A preliminary hearing wrapped up Tuesday for Slippery, and on Nov. 30 for Gamble, Sutherland, and Ahpay. Peequaquat didn't have a preliminary hearing and her matter went straight to King's Bench Court.

Peequaquat  was released on bail. She was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant last year for being unlawfully at large. Gamble, Sutherland, Ahpay, and Slippery remain in custody.

Saskatoon Police say they responded to a report of a 26-year-old man being held against his will and assaulted at a house in the 400 block of Avenue G Â鶹´«Ã½AV in August 2020.

The charges against the accused haven’t been tested in court.
