A representative of the Yorkton Film Festival appeared before the regular meeting of Yorkton Council to present a sponsorship fulfilment package outlining all of the benefits and recognition to the City of Yorkton has received throughout the year and at the 2015 Yorkton Film Festival.
鈥淲e are pleased to inform you that the 68th Yorkton Film Festival was a great success. We could not have done it, of course, without the generous support of the City of Yorkton,鈥� said Keith Hayward, Co-Chairperson, Yorkton Film Festival.
Hayward said the Film Festival has a long history locally.
鈥淭his film festival is a deeply rooted tradition in Yorkton, for the past 68 years. Festival delegates, media, industry representatives and dignitaries marvel and applaud the efforts of our relatively small city for maintaining the success of this organization. Through various comments, evaluations and suggestions regarding the festival, the message that becomes clear is the appreciation from our visitors in receiving a warm welcome from the community here in Yorkton,鈥� he said.
鈥淥n behalf of the entire board and staff of the Yorkton Film Festival, I would like to once again express our most sincere thanks to the City of Yorkton. It is through this continued support that allows this festival to maintain its high level of excellence in recognizing the achievements of filmmakers across the nation.
鈥淲e would also recognize and send our appreciation to the Gallagher Centre staff for the exceptional hospitality and hosting. The Centre continues to exceed expectations and provides venue services to meet the growing needs of the festival. From set-up to take-down, food and catering, audio/visual needs, it is provided in an efficient and effective manner.鈥�
