The Sturgis Kinsmen club annual duck derby was another huge success with all 746 plastic ducks sold. The derby was held at the Sturgis Regional Park on June 10 with numerous families enjoying the afternoon of fun and friendship.

"The family day has continued the tradition of families gathering together for a fun day. It also represents a fun way to raise funds for local charities," said Tyler Blender, Duck Derby chairman.

Children had the opportunity to play on two inflatable bouncy castles while their parents enjoyed hamburgers and refreshments.

Kinsmen members who helped transport and dump the ducks over the bridge were: Chris Walker, Nathan Seghers, Dean Serdachny and Ken Hurlburt. Catching the ducks as they crossed the finish line were: Tyler Blender, Craig Folk, Daniel Wasylenchuk and Eugene Boychuk.

Larry Sliva won first place, Trae Peterson placed second, Meghan Morton finished third and Skylar Ryczak captured fourth place.
