July 13th coffee row was a great deal of fun when over 20 persons attended and were treated to some delicious baking and "free" coffee by Leona Kaczur on the occasion of her birthday. Visitors were Jean Allan, Ed and Margie Oldham, Jimmy and Bev Moore, Andrea (Toth) Rix and daughter, Cassidy, and Leona's grandchildren, Jacob and Kendall Oremba.

July 13-14 weekend visitors with Gladys Smith were her 5 brothers: George (Marion) Mitchell, La Riviere, MB; John (Lynne) Mitchell, Stockholm; Gordon Mitchell, Penticton, BC; Wilfred Mitchell, Blue River, BC; and Allen Mitchell, Calgary, AB; a sister, Joyce Wars, Winnipeg, MB; her Uncle Joe (Linda) Cober, Swan River, MB; as well as several nieces and nephews from across Canada. Since they had not been able to attend a funeral service in November, a family memorial and inurnment for the late Matt Smith was held at the Stockholm village cemetery on Sunday with Rev. Susan Griffith officiating. Everyone enjoyed our beautiful weather. The children spent a lot of time in our playground right across the street from "The Hut" where the family had gathered for the weekend. A delicious supper was catered by Kim Drozda on Saturday.

"The monthly community birthday party for July was held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, as has become the rule. There was a great turnout with approximately 18 in attendance. Tanis Nielsen and Jeri McKelvie were out of town guests accompanying Audrey Nielsen who was one of the birthday girls this month. Janet Siever and Leona Kaczur were also honored guests with birthdays in July.

Bev Issel brought her mom, Luci, and good friend and former neighbour, Elaine Kovacs, from Yorkton to enjoy the afternoon social. A lovely lunch was served up featuring birthday cake, ice cream and strawberries, of course.

Many happy returns, Leona, Audrey and Janet, and much good health and happiness through out the coming year!"
