DUBUC - Brief wintery stint

Our unseasonably warm weather has escaped... Winter finally hit... coffee row on Jan. 17 was very cold outside but the 14 brave coffee drinkers inside enjoyed a very warm and hospitable time together in spite of the abrupt change of climate.

Our unseasonably warm weather has escaped... Winter finally hit... coffee row on Jan. 17 was very cold outside but the 14 brave coffee drinkers inside enjoyed a very warm and hospitable time together in spite of the abrupt change of climate. One good thing, hopefully it will be gone as quickly as it came... and can't possibly last more than a couple or three months. We have made it through November, December and most of January already.
Sympathy from the community goes to Diane & Marv Horachek on the passing of a 17 year old cousin. Diane attended the funeral in Abbotsford, BC and was able to spend some time with her family.

On Wed., Jan. 25, the Hut was a busy place. First thing in the afternoon, several people attended the Health and Wellness Clinic that was being offered by Public Health Nurse Petracek. She checked blood pressures and cut toe nails as well as other necessary health checks. This is a very valuable service that is offered to the community and we encourage people to come out and take advantage of it. Following the clinic (actually overlapping a bit), the monthly community birthday party was held. There was a real nice turnout and much visiting took place while cards and games were played. This was followed by a lovely lunch and, of course, birthday cake with a round of "Happy Birthday" being sung to the only two January birthday girls in attendance, Gladys Simle and Mary Forsberg. Best wishes for a happy, healthy year to both of you.

Coffee Row has been a happening place with an average attendance of 17-18 every Tuesday and Saturday morning at the Hut at 9:30 a.m. There have not been any out of town visitors lately but some of our less frequent locals are becoming regulars and bumping up our attendance figures - much to the pleasure of the organizers and everyone else in attendance. Everyone is welcome, the more, the merrier!
