SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service has charged two men after a dangerous driving incident that ended in Krydor on Thursday.
On Aug. 4, at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers attempted to make a traffic stop near the intersection of 22nd Street and Avenue P. The driver did not stop and continued driving at high speeds. The SPS air support unit was able to track the vehicle, which stopped momentarily, in the 100 block of Circle Drive. Officers arrested a 25-year-old man found to be in possession of a loaded sawed-off rifle. The vehicle continued outside of the city.
The ASU continued to track the vehicle as it fled, along with officers from the SPS and RCMP. The driver eventually stopped in the village of Krydor. He attempted to flee on foot, but was arrested without further incident.
The 26-year-old driver arrested in Krydor is charged with dangerous driving, evading police and operation of a vehicle while prohibited.
The 25-year-old man arrested in Saskatoon is charged with six firearm related charges and breach of conditions.
