SASKATOON — The City of Saskatoon has extended the deadline for the application of volunteers to fill the vacant positions on its boards, committees, and commissions. The new deadline is Oct. 12, Tuesday, at 5 p.m.

Citizen volunteers come from different backgrounds of communities. They bring various experiences, expertise, and perspective that can provide guidance and new input on matters that are important to the community.

Membership of the boards, committees, and commissions — as part of the City’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan — should reflect the community we serve, with members bringing their unique perspective, guidance, and advice.

The boards, committees, and commissions that have open positions are:

The city’s boards, committees, and commissions are stronger through its diverse membership. Saskatoon becomes a better city if people in the community are working together.

The program reflects the community’s diversity as everyone is welcome to volunteer and serve to the various boards, committees, and commissions as members bring different perspectives, guidance, and advise.

City leaders welcome and value the members for the differences, experiences, talents, and contribution they bring to the board, committee, or commission that they will join in.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to give recommendations, and share their inputs, advice, and expertise that will guide the board, committee, or commission that they choose to join.

The city said joining as a volunteer would give you valuable experience and the chance to expand your network and contacts.
