Christmas concert steeped in tradition

The Preeceville School elementary students performed for family members and friends in the annual Christmas concert that was steeped in tradition on December 17. Jakob Turchinetz and Dylan Fenske were the masters of ceremonies.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Jakob Turchinetz and Dylan Fenske were the masters of ceremonies. Bonnie Lisitza accompanied the singing of O Canada at the beginning of the evening program. It was followed by Linda Shewchuk鈥檚 presentation of funds generated from the Christmas kids鈥 store.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Scene one featured students Jillian Newton, Kate Covlin, Emma Covlin, Mardy Mclaughlin, Tanesha Dobson, Isaiah Maier, Kiera Balyski, Zach Sorgen, Braxton Danielson, Chloe Chornomitz, Sydney Koloski, Maggie Ivanochko, Mia Mitchell and Hannah Kidder asking the question 鈥淲hat is Christmas?鈥 followed by the Kindergarten class singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Scene two had Mardy McLaughlin, Taensha Dobson and Devon Purdy explaining what they wanted for Chrsitmas, followed by the Grade 1 class singing All I want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Scene three had Kiera Balyski, Zach Sorgen and Yohan Quibod introduce the Grade 2 class which performed I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Scene four saw Emma Covlin, Chloe Chornomitz, Emma Erickson and Hunter Nelson introduce the Grade 3 class which performed Walking in a Winter Wonderland.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Scene five had Kate Covlin, Keane Balyski and Cassidy Paterson explaining that they wanted to go to Hawaii for the warmer climate. It was followed by the Grade 4 class performance of Mali Kalikimaka.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Scene six was about 鈥済oing home for Christmas鈥 followed by the Grade 5 class singing I'll be Home for Christmas.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Scene seven was about Isaiah Maier, Hannah Kidder and Trever Geistlinger 鈥渞ocking under the Christmas tree鈥 followed by the Grade 6 class performing Jingle Bell Rock.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The last scene was about the answer to the original question: 鈥淲hat is Christmas?鈥 It was followed by the choir from Kindergarten to Grade 6 performing Christmas Is and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Laura Chartrand and Sheila Klebeck were responsible for co-ordinating the concert. Jeff Davis was responsible for the sound and Josiah Sorgen worked the spotlight.
