The Preeceville Arena board has once again arranged for 70 acres of land west of Preeceville to be used as a fundraiser crop.

The 70 acres was seeded to canola with the funds from the upcoming harvest going towards the Preeceville Arena. Last year the land was seeded into wheat for the Arena fundraiser crop.

Tim Olson and Conrad Peterson from Pattison Agriculture were responsible for the actual seeding using a 9620 RX tractor, a C850 cart and 1870 model 12-foot drill with an expansion of 76 feet. The new valued cost of the entire set of equipment used in the seeding process was estimated at $1.4 million stated Tim Olson, Pattison Agriculture representative.

"Volunteers helped to make the seeding of this year’s fundraiser crop possible," said Andrea Tonn, organizer. “The proceeds from this year’s harvest will be allotted towards bathroom renovations, a new outside sign and other upgrades at the arena, " she said.

Ashley Ward was responsible for picking up and transporting the fertilizer and canola seed to the field site. Pattison Agricultural supplied the equipment and personnel for seeding.
Crop Productive Services donated half of the fertilizer used.
The seed donation came from Boyd Ellis from Dow Agro and the chemical was provided by Derek Stykalo from Bayer Crop Science.
Hoterra Farms donated the 70 acres of land that was used for the project.
