CALDER - Feast planned

The Calder Annual Fall Supper is planned for Sept. 29, 2013 at the Calder Community Hall. Supper starts at 4:30, doors will be opened at 4:30. Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy a wonderful meal.

The Village of Calder held their annual meeting, with a great turn out.

The Calder Parkland Regional Library is looking for 3-4 year olds to attend the playschool program. We meet every Wednesday at the Calder Library. For more information phone 306-742-2167.

April Rohatensky was out for the summer visiting with her mother, Marie Rohantensky and family.

Don and Joy Kohut of Okotoks, had their grandchildren out in Calder visiting with family.

Whitney Kahut of Calgary is out visiting with her dad, Gordon Kahut.

Shiryel and Larry Adam attended Shiryel's nieces' wedding in Regina. Carl and Shirley Kohut attended Shiryel's niece wedding in Yorkton.

The Calder Seniors held their Birthday Social at the Calder Good Neighbour Centre. The following had a birthday in the last few months: Virginia Wandy, Peter Wereschuk, Mary Sobkow, Julia Mclean, Judy Pryslak, Mildred Danylko, Arnold Balabuk, Anna Fyck, and Arthur Martinuk. Hope you all had a great day. At the Birthday Social the guest got to play a few rounds of Whist. Here are the winners of the Whist Drive: Arthur Martinuk, Margie Mankish, Marie Rohantensky, and Judy Pryslak. The Pot of Gold winners were Don Kahut and Ann Mostoway.

Visitors at the Mildred Danylko place in Calder were her daughter, Donna from Regina, Shannon from Calgary, and Granddaughter Madison from Ottawa, nephew Kevin Baumung and his wife Michelle and daughter Maddie and Katie from Langley, B.C. Mildred Danylko visited her daughter Leanne and family in Martensville and also Gavin and Jessica Andrews in Saskatoon. Gavin and Jessica Andrews welcomed a new son to their family on Aug. 8, 2013, Parker Gavin Andrews.

The Calder School teachers are busy getting the students settled into their classrooms. Students from grade 3-8 will be taking part in some Cross Country Track Meets. Kindergarten will be starting up on Sept. 17, 2013. Hope all the students in the Calder School have a wonderful year.
