Applications open soon for the 2016 Saskatchewanderer position

Interested candidates can apply from October 13 at noon until November 9 at noon to be the next Saskatchewanderer. Over the course of 2015, the Saskatchewanderer project has experienced unprecedented growth.

Interested candidates can apply from October 13 at noon until November 9 at noon to be the next Saskatchewanderer.

Over the course of 2015, the Saskatchewanderer project has experienced unprecedented growth. The program kicked off with more than 10,000 combined followers through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in January. Currently, the Saskatchewanderer boasts more than 26,000 followers.

As the year comes to a close, Tourism Saskatchewan and the Ministries of Parks, Culture and Sport, Agriculture and Economy are gearing up to offer the program again in 2016. The goal is to showcase Saskatchewan as a terrific place to live, work and play.

For the last 铿 ve years, I鈥檝e travelled the globe,鈥 2015 Saskatchewanderer Ashlyn George said. 鈥淭his year, I鈥檝e had the chance to explore my home province. I鈥檝e experienced incredible attractions, visited innovative agricultural operations and met forward-thinking entrepreneurs right here in Saskatchewan. I encourage anyone interested to apply for the 2016 Saskatchewanderer position. You鈥檒l learn that this province isn鈥檛 just easy to draw, it鈥檚 easy to fall in love with.鈥

鈥淭ourism Saskatchewan has received positive feedback from numerous tourism operators who have hosted Ashlyn,鈥 Tourism Saskatchewan CEO Mary TaylorAsh said. 鈥淭hey appreciate the exposure that the Saskatchewanderer brings to their businesses and activities. The stories shared through social media put these businesses directly in front of consumers in interesting and entertaining ways, and, ultimately, lead to more visitors and bookings.鈥

CAA Saskatchewan will remain the project鈥檚 exclusive sponsor in 2016.

鈥淎shlyn has been a wonderful ambassador for Saskatchewan and we are proud to be a part of her adventures,鈥 CAA Saskatchewan President and CEO Fred Titanich said. 鈥淲e look forward to supporting the project again in 2016 by providing a vehicle, gas vouchers and a CAA membership.鈥

Ashlyn will continue to travel the province until the middle of December. The 2016 Saskatchewanderer will start touring in January.
