The Yorkton Arts Council (YAC) celebrated the start of summer with some help from Saskatchewan artist Jeffery Straker.

The YAC and Straker held five shows over three days, including two at nursing homes and three public shows, which saw over 100 people attend the shows.

Marc Holt, the performing arts coordinator for the Yorkton Arts Council, said that the three shows went great.
Ìý
"We are very happy with it. When we started planning, we weren't sure if we were going to be allowed ten people, and then we were allowed 150 people, and we ranged anywhere between 40 to 80 people between the three shows."
Ìý
Holt said it was super exciting to have such a large audience back for the first time.
Ìý
Straker echoed the same thing.
Ìý
"Smiles and toes tapping, and feeling the energy come back," he said. "That's the thing until we did this the other day with the first show, you forgot the feeling that of the magic of a live show, and it comes back."

Holt added that nothing is set in stone yet, but he hopes the YAC can have events planned for the fall.
