If you have been affected by severe weather in Saskatchewan you can call the Red Cross Recovery Assistance & Information Line to find out if you are eligible for Red Cross assistance.

At least 100 Saskatchewan communities and municipalities have declared a local State of Emergency due to severe weather in Saskatchewan this summer. It is estimated that over 4000 homes have been damaged or destroyed. Red Cross has been actively responding, in collaboration with provincial, local, and First Nation authorities, since these disasters began.

Call the Toll-Free Recovery & Information line at 1-888-953-3463 Lines are open Monday to Friday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday noon to 5 p.m. A message can be left on this line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and a Red Cross worker will return your call. This line will be open until Sunday, August 29, 2010 (subject to change as may be required).

The number is free to call in Saskatchewan and all information will remain confidential. Canadian Red Cross assistance is provided at no cost to the recipient and is co-ordinated with governments, insurance, and other organizations to ensure needs are met without duplication.
