Shawn Grice named new STC boss

Shawn Grice has accepted an appointment to serve as President of the Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC). The announcement was made by Highways and Infrastructure Minister and Minister responsible for STC Jim Reiter.

Shawn Grice has accepted an appointment to serve as President of the Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC). The announcement was made by Highways and Infrastructure Minister and Minister responsible for STC Jim Reiter.

"Running STC is an important and challenging role," Reiter said. "Mr. Grice has the experience and skill required to do an excellent job."

Prior to taking over as President at STC, Mr. Grice served as STC's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since 1998 and was appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer in February 2010. Before joining STC, Mr. Grice was a Business Analyst (responsible for STC) with Crown Investments Corporation, a Financial Analyst with the Saskatchewan Department of Finance, and a Senior Accountant with KPMG Peat Marwick Thorne. Mr. Grice graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Great Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan and also holds a CA designation.

"Everyone at STC works hard to deliver a great value for our passengers and Mr. Grice has served as a key member of the STC team for 12 years," STC Board Chair Wayne Lorch said. "Mr. Grice brings a great combination of continuity and leadership to his new role."

STC provides inter-city bus and freight service to 290 communities across Saskatchewan.
