The Health Foundation is once again expecting to sell out its annual cash lottery. The fifth annual lottery was announced on Monday, May 3rd.
"We have been growing as a lottery. Last year was a milestone as we achieved a sellout," said Lorne Kopelchuk, Chair of the Lottery Committee. "We're going to try and sell an extra 250 tickets this year."
Proceeds from this year's lottery will purchase equipment for the new stroke clinic and therapy program for patients who have had a heart attack or stroke. Last year's proceeds established the stroke prevention clinic and rehabilitation services, which are now in place.
"There are a good 300 people here who won't have to go to Regina because of the new services," said Executive Director Ross Fisher at the lottery launch.
Tickets are $100 each, or three for $250. Kopelchuk encourages workplace groups to take advantage of the special rate for three tickets.
People may purchase tickets by phone (1-800-636-3243 or 786-0505 locally). They can also be bought in person by stopping by the Health Foundation office (41 Betts Avenue in Yorkton) or from any local Credit Union within Sunrise Health Region communities.
