Friends and family attend anniversary

The Calder Seniors held their whist drive on Sat., April 10, at the Good Neighbour Centre. The winners of the whist drive were 1st Gordon Kahut, 2nd Allan Molnar, 3rd Jack Miller, low Arnold Balabuk.

The Calder Seniors held their whist drive on Sat., April 10, at the Good Neighbour Centre. The winners of the whist drive were 1st Gordon Kahut, 2nd Allan Molnar, 3rd Jack Miller, low Arnold Balabuk. The Pot of Gold winners were Ella Becker and Jack Miller.

The Calder Seniors held their Birthday Social on April 11, at the Good Neighbour Centre.

The following people had birthdays, Gordon Kahut, Marie Rohatensky, Margie Mankish, Randy Balabuk, Jim Fustey and Allan Molnar. Hope you all had a great birthday, and many more to come.

The Calder Yalenka Dance Club went to Russell Competition on April 10 and April 11.

The Calder Senior Girls danced in the Buko Small Group Female and they received a silver medal with a mark of 90%. They also danced in the Trans Small Group Female and received a silver medal with a mark or 90%. They also danced in Poltavski Small Group Female and received a silver medal with a mark of 90%. And they danced in the Bolyn Small Group Female and also received a silver medal with a mark of 90%.

Kallie Haas did a Hutzul solo and received a silver medal. Katie Haas did a Buko solo and received a silver. The rest of the club did really well in Russell too.

The Calder Yalenka Senior Girls were in Brandon on April 17. They received gold in Poltava, silver in their Trans, silver in Buko and bronze in their Volyn. The Volyn relieved a gold mark but with the other clubs mark being higher thats how they got bronze. Great job, girls.

The Calder Yalenka Dance Club will be having a hot dog sale on May 11 in Roblin at the Co-op Food Centre.

The Calder School held an open house on April 20. The community and surrounding area had the chance to see what the Calder students have been doing through the year. The open house was well attended.

Everyone got to enjoy a hot dog, cakes, coffee, juice, fruit and veggie trays, and chips. Everything was supplied by the parents. The home and school sold raffle tickets to the people who were at the school.A big thank you, to the parents for donating the door prizes for the night. Also a big thank you to all the people who attended the event.

The students did some square dancing, the band played, and some students showed people around to the different class rooms.

Congratulation to all the people who won a door prize.

The Calder students are taking swimming lessons in Yorkton till May.

Get well wishes to Mervin Korbet who is a patient at the Yorkton Hospital. Get well soon, Mervin.Sympathy goes out to Nadia Mostoway and families on the recent passing of Mary Mostoway.

Mary Mostoway was a well known person in the Calder area. She was a school teacher for many years and she wrote for the newspaper for years. We will really miss her.

The Calder Seniors held their whist drive on April 24. The winners were 1st Arthur Marteniuk, 2nd Virginia Wandy, 3rd Marlene Balabuk and Gordon Kahut, low Arnold Balabuk. Pot of Gold winners were Anna Fyck and Arnold Balabuk.

The Bauer family held a surprise anniversary party for Brian and Beryl Bauer on April 24. Family and friends gathered at the Community Hall. Congratulations Brian and Beryl.
