KAMSACK — In a heartwarming display of holiday spirit, the community of Kamsack gathered for a Christmas concert featuring a diverse range of performances at the Playhouse Theatre.

As the event began on Dec. 17 the Kamsack Community Choir set the festive tone with their renditions of Jubilation! Bells Are Ringing and Winter Wonderland. The harmonious voices of the choir resonated through the venue, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Solo performances added a personal touch to the evening. Kali Wyllychuk delighted the audience with renditions of Deck the Halls and White Christmas, showcasing her vocal talent. The young Quinn Bedore brought a lively element to the stage with a tap dance solo, perfectly synchronized to the lively beats of Hot Chocolate from the Polar Express soundtrack.

Erika Sweeney, accompanied by microphone helper Nate, delivered a heartfelt rendition of Blue Christmas, captivating the audience with her emotive vocals. The crowd joined in for a sing-along to the timeless classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

During the intermission, attendees had the opportunity to indulge in complimentary hot chocolate. The Kamsack Youth Group then presented a Nativity play titled The Reason for the Season, followed by a soulful singing performance by Ellen Case. Her return to the stage for another Christmas carol left the audience enchanted.

The cultural diversity of the community shone through as Zennovia Duck and Mike Sass treated the audience to various Ukrainian Christmas carols. As they finished, the pair gave out warm wishes for a Merry Christmas to all who attended.

The concert reached its peak with a final sing-along led by the surprised Karen Tourangeau, who wasn’t expecting to guide the audience through the cheerful notes of A Holly Jolly Christmas.

The evening drew to a close with the much-anticipated appearance of the secret special guest, Santa Claus. Children eagerly shared their Christmas wishes to Santa, and Santa distributed candy cane-shaped treat containers, bringing smiles to the faces of the young and young at heart.

In summary, the Christmas concert in Kamsack was a delightful celebration of community and holiday cheer. The diverse performances and shared moments of joy underscored the spirit of the season, leaving attendees with lasting memories and a sense of connection.
