Chief Musqua spoke passionately about community and reconciliation, emphasizing the importance of education in fostering mutual respect and understanding.

He highlighted the role of community in supporting students and extended an open invitation for future collaboration and visits.

Principal Audrey Severson, reflecting on her brief yet impactful time with the graduates, lauded their leadership and growth.

“Even though I’ve only known you for 10 months, I have had the privilege of discovering some remarkable things,” Severson said. She encouraged all graduates to embrace change and persevere through challenges.

Chief Isabel O’Soup said, “Congratulations to all the graduates and to all the parents, because you helped them accomplish one of the many milestones they will accomplish in their lives.”

GSSD Board Chair Jaimie Johnson highlighted the collective effort behind the graduates’ success, from teachers to bus drivers, and the community at large.

“This achievement is a testament to your parents, guardians, and teachers support and your dedication and effort,” Johnson said. She encouraged the graduates to embrace the future with courage, quoting Mark Twain: “Explore, dream, and discover.”

The valedictorians, Carson Ebert and Keegan Dyck, shared their gratitude and reflections. “We’d like to thank our friends and family for all the memories that we have created over the years,” Ebert said. They reminisced about their journey from childhood to graduation.

Jennifer Lindgren concluded the ceremony with a message of encouragement and reflection. “This is just the beginning. This is the start of your journey. Take this journey with an open heart and a curious mind,” she advised the graduates. Lindgren urged the graduates to embrace opportunities and challenges alike, and to pursue their dreams with determination.
