Yorkton Summer Fair line-up announced

YORKTON - The Yorkton Exhibition Association has announced that advance tickets are now available for the 2024 Yorkton Exhibition Summer Fair presented by the Yorkton Tribal Council.

You can take advantage of the savings and purchase your tickets in advance.

This year the fair takes place July 3 - 6 on the Yorkton Exhibition Fairgrounds and as always there is entertainment for all.

The Eastern Professional Chariot & Chuckwagon Association is back for three action packed days of racing.

Then there will be Adventure Wrangler Elisa with her Reptile and Blast from the Past Dinosaur Show which includes a hands-on meet and greet as well as Velociraptor training for all dinosaur enthusiasts.

Enjoy the thrilling Global FMX freestyle motocross and Extreme Dog Stunt Show. These high flying, amazingly talented athletes are sure to provide exciting entertainment for all ages.

This year will see the Loiselle Creek Petting Zoo on-site, and you won’t want to miss the Kids Zone, Trade Show, Science Show and new this year, the YBID Cultural Stage.

West Coast Amusements is back with all your favourite rides and games and don’t forget to try all the delicious fair food.

Starting on Wednesday July 3, is the Touchwood Agency Tribal Council Seniors Day. Head to the National Bank Convention Place to take in the opening ceremonies and Seniors Tea at 2:00 p.m. with entertainment provided by Backhome Country. Seniors gate admission for the day is only five dollars until 4:00 p.m.

The Yorkton 4-H Regional Show & Sale Association will also be hosting their annual Beef Show and Sale Tuesday, July 2, and Wednesday, July 3 in the AgriPavilion. The sale starts at 5:00 sharp.

Thursday, July 4, is Kiddies Day presented by Legacy Co-op. The Legacy Co-op Kids Club will host the annual Kiddies Day Parade and on this day, any child 12 & under will receive free admission into the fair until 2:00 p.m. when accompanied by an adult paid gate admission.

Day one of our Light Horse Show starts in the morning and runs through to Friday afternoon.

Wrap up day two at the Legacy Co-op Main Stage with music by Saskatchewan award winning artist Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys.

Friday, July 5, is Family Day presented by the Yorkton Kinsmen Club. Take advantage of the awesome Family Pass which includes two adults and two youth for only 40 dollars.

Don’t miss the final day of chariot and chuckwagon races and get ready to rock the Legacy Co-op Grandstand with music by Credence Clearwater Remembered. Creedence Clearwater Remembered celebrates the extraordinary music and legacy of the band that rocked the music scene of the sixties and seventies: CCR. It’s sure to be an evening you won’t forget.

Saturday, July 6, is parade day presented by the Painted Hand Casino and SIGA. This is your last chance to take in all the excitement! Saturday starts with the Painted Hand Casino and SIGA Parade at 11:00 a.m. This year the parade will join in celebrating 150 years on Treaty 4 Territory, as it will also be the parade theme.

Don’t miss the demolition derby and grab a beverage before you sit back and enjoy an evening of music with the Leathers and Lace Live show – a tribute to Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles and Tom Petty followed by the amazing icons of rock. Originally branded as Snake Oil’s Ikons of Rock, they have gained a reputation with their impeccable ability to impersonate any rock stars musically and visually. They look like them, talk like them, walk like them, and most importantly sing like them.

Wrap-up the 2024 edition of the Summer Fair with the fireworks display presented by Yorkton Hyundai. It is sure to be one of the most amazing fireworks shows you will ever see.
