The Outlook and District Arts Council is kicking off their performance series next month with a concert by Toronto country artist Glenn Reid.

The singer/songwriter will be appearing at the Terrace Dining Room in Broderick on Saturday, June 17, performing songs from his internationally acclaimed recordings, as well as some classic hits that helped inspire his writing.

Glenn Reid has been performing professionally for over forty years as a singer-songwriter, rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist in various bands. His song 鈥淎nother Hanks Williams Night鈥 spent 14 straight weeks on the European Country Music Associations Top 100 chart and hit #1 in Sweden. His international success continued with his 2nd CD 鈥淚鈥檓 In鈥 and 3rd聽 CD 鈥淜eep On Walking. His 4th CD 鈥淣ot Being With You鈥 was officially released on February 14, 2017 to complement the video of the lead track 鈥淪helter of Your Smile鈥, and is already garnering international airplay.聽 His music tells the stories of himself, his family, and his fellow Canadians from coast to coast.

Glenn Reid鈥檚 performing career started out in Montreal, where he worked clubs as a front man and lead singer before gravitating to writing some of the material as well. Here he met the Henman brothers, David and Ritchie, who had parted ways with April Wine after recording most of the album 鈥淓lectric Jewels鈥 and a long-time collaboration between the artists began.

David and Glenn worked as a duo around Toronto until a chance meeting with Bob Segarini leads to combining 鈥淭he Business鈥 with Bob Segarini, Drew Winters (The Segarini Band), Suzie Burmester (Brave and Crazy) and Sam Pollard (The Haircuts, Samantha, Brave and Crazy) to form 鈥淐ats and Dogs鈥. The band released two CD鈥檚 on indie label Bullseye Records 鈥 containing the stellar Glenn Reid original 鈥淭he Only Thing鈥 and his version of 鈥淜nockin鈥 on Heaven鈥檚 Door鈥 by Bob Dylan.

Glenn spent two years in Alberta working as a solo act 鈥 playing 3 sets a night, 6 nights per week. This was a very rich song-writing period that aided in developing his country style. Glenn stopped at a local club where he won a talent contest and was awarded studio time at TAG Recording in Alberta. While recording his first solo CD 鈥淎 Piece of This Country鈥 Glenn also worked as a DJ on the local country/gospel station C.I.H.S. 鈥淎 Piece of This Country鈥 sold hundreds of copies to people from all over the world.

Still performing at countless clubs, festivals and benefits across the Ontario landscape and with a support tour throughout Europe in the planning stages, audiences around the world will be enjoying this consummate performer鈥檚 music for some time to come. Combining tireless enthusiasm and a seemingly unending supply of songs both poignant and uplifting, Glenn鈥檚 live shows continue to thrill, intrigue and satisfy. As the CD says鈥eep on Walkin鈥.

The show at the Terrace Dining Room starts at 7:00.聽 Tickets are available at the Terrace, or at the Bird鈥檚 Nest Inn in Outlook.
