The youngest person who predicted the correct snow melt date in the Town of Sturgis Snow Be Gone competition was Avery Masley. The Town of Sturgis sponsored the event.
Her chosen date was May 9. Masley also selected that the snow would be gone in the afternoon.
This is the fourth year of the Snow Be Gone Day fundraiser. Funds raised are donated to the Sturgis and District Fire Department.
鈥淲e thank all the folks who donated to this most-worthy cause by selecting a date in hopes of getting it right,鈥� said Aileen Lubiniecki, an organizer. 鈥淚f you want in on the fun ask at the Sturgis Town Office to see the Snow Be Gone calendar for next winter."
The event was created as a fun way to shake the winter blues and generate funds for a local charity, she said.
