U13 Canora Cobras win on the road in Kamsack

Cobras earn 7-3 victory over the Flyers, led by a pair of goals from Kasen Heshka.

KAMSACK - In an afternoon filled with spirited competition, the youth hockey teams of the Kamsack U13 Flyers and Canora U13 Cobras faced off in a closely contested match, with Canora ultimately emerging victorious with a final score of 7-3 on Jan. 19. The action-packed game showcased the skill and determination of the young athletes as they battled it out on the ice.

The Kamsack U13 Flyers exhibited commendable teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the game, making notable efforts to control the puck and create scoring opportunities. Despite their best efforts, the team faced a formidable opponent on their home turf in Kamsack, the Cobras whose well-coordinated plays and effective strategies contributed to their success.

The first period saw both teams vying for control, with neither side securing a significant early lead. However, Canora demonstrated a strong offensive presence as the game progressed, capitalizing on key opportunities to secure the puck and score goals.

The top goal scorer for the Cobras was Kasen Heshka with a pair. Singles came from the sticks of Ashton Strelioff, Caden Doogan, Kenzee Kopelchuk, Cameron Sznerch and Wade Vangen. Vangen and Angel Sliva were the leading playmakers for the well-balanced Canora offense with two assists each.

Mason Reine was the winning goaltender.

Both the Kamsack Flyers and Canora exhibited commendable skill and determination, creating an engaging atmosphere for spectators. The game featured moments of intense back-and-forth action, with goaltenders on both sides making impressive saves to keep their teams going.
